Rockwood Rocks!
Students from all four Rockwood School District high schools planned and hosted the first-ever “Rockwood Rocks!” band night on November 10th. The event was held at Lafayette High School and open to all high school students and families and friends of band members.
There were nine performances by bands and soloists from Rockwood High Schools. 125 guests attended the Rockwood Drug-Free Coalition sponsored event.

Outstanding Youth Prevention Awards
Two Rockwood students, Jension have been Jessica Buehler and Angela Robinson have been awarded the MYAA Outstanding Youth Preveniton Award for 2012. We are very proud of their accomplishments with the Rockwood Drug-Free Coalition. Read more about them here.

What Is Going On in My School?
TREND (Turning Recreational Energies in New Directions)
is a student-lead, adult-guided organization that focuses on alcohol, tobacco and substance abuses. Through activities and advocacy, TREND members seek to reduce rates of substance abuse and improve their communities.
STAR (Supporting Teens at Risk)
is a student-lead, adult-guided organization that seeks to provide students the opportunity to discuss "at risk" topics in a safe and constructive forum. Many times, these group discussions are facilitated by an expert in the field from outside the school community.

SMOKEBUSTERS-
is dedicated to promoting healthy, tobacco-free environments by decreasing exposure to second-hand smoke and reducing tobacco use among youth. Smokebusters focuses on helping youth build skills in the areas of decision-making, problem solving, and advocacy.

R.H.O.R.S. (Rockwood Helping Others Remain Safe)

RHORS is a student led, adult-guided organization of students from all Rockwood high schools with substance abuse prevention goals and drug-free lifestyle values. RHORS members represent many different groups and clubs, including TREND, STAR, Smokebusters, Teenage Health Consultants, Student Council, Key Club and Renaissance.
