Welcome to the Rockwood Summit High School Library Media Center.  With more than 18,000 volumes of books, 1200 videotapes and DVDs, 250 books on tape, and many periodicals and journals, your library/media center continues to grow. It also provides links to many valuable resources attached to the web page and accessible from any Internet-connected computer at home or school. Within the new LMC, you will find 2 computer labs, a classroom area, a media editing room, and a distance learning lab. The LMC provides materials, time and space for students to research topics and/or create projects. Library personnel work closely with students and staff to provide top-notch service and educational opportunities to all students.

Rockwood Summit families may access online services through the LMC web page at any time.  Contact Margaret Sullivan, Librarian, at sullivanmargaret@rockwood.k12.mo.us for usernames and passwords.

Students may check out books for a period of two weeks. A student not finished with a book at the end of two weeks may bring it to the LMC and renew it for an additional two-week period. The fine for overdue books is 5 cents per day. Students may check out some videos overnight. The fine for overdue videos is 50 cents per day. We ask that students keep track of materials checked out and return them promptly. Early returns gladly accepted!

The RSHS Library Media Center encourages students to participate in the Gateway Readers Award Program. Sponsored by the Missouri Association of School Librarians, the award is designed to encourage high school students to read for pleasure and to promote quality young adult literature. Each year, fifteen books are nominated for the award. The winning book is selected by Missouri high school students. Any student who reads three or more nominated books is eligible to vote for his/her favorite book in March. Click on the MO Readers Award link on the left side of this page to see the list of this year’s nominees.
