8-1-13   10th-12th grade Orientation 9am-3pm

Rockwood Summer Academy:

Rockwood Summit High School dates and times:

Session 1:  June 3-June 28, 8:00am -11:15am

Session 2:  June 3-June 28, 11:30am-2:45pm

GENERAL GUIDANCE INFORMATION

Our guidance and counseling program includes:

  1. CURRICULUM consists of classroom lessons and large group presentations
  2. INDIVIDUAL PLANNING consists of activities that help all students plan, monitor, and manage their own learning as well as their personal and career development.                   
  3. RESPONSIVE SERVICES consists of activities to meet immediate needs and concerns of students.
  4. SYSTEM SUPPORT consists of management activities that establish, maintain, and enhance the total guidance program.

The Guidance Department at Rockwood Summit is here to assist students to make good choices concerning their High School career.

The following is a list of Graduation Requirements for students'

Eight semesters of attendance plus the following course work:
 

Subject  Credits
9th, 10th, 11th and Senior  Language arts  

4 credits

Mathematics    3 credits
Social Studies   3 credits
Science 3 credits
Practical Arts     1 credit

Personal Finance

1/2 credit (Course is designed to prepare students for the state personal finance exam required for graduation)
Fine Arts   1 credit
Physical Education   1 credit
Health Education 1/2 credit
Electives   7 credits
TOTAL    24
Speech Proficiency Completed through language arts coursework
Missouri and Federal Constitution Exams taken during United States government course

Credits needed to advance in grade level:

  • 6 Credits - 10th Grade
  • 12 Credits - 11th Grade
  • 18 Credits - 12th Grade

Students may be reclassified at the end of each semester and summer academy.  If you have questions regarding your grade level contact your counselor.

Guidance Office Hours:

The Guidance Office is open daily Monday - Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 pm. Counselors are available, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  To schedule an appointment with your counselor contact Mrs. Liz Tucci.  Mrs. Tucci will help you find a time that is best for you and your counselor.
