AlertNow is Rockwood's automatic notification system that notifies parents by phone and/or email about school/district news, cancellations and activities. It is important for parents to include accurate phone numbers and email addresses on their students' Census Verification Forms in August, and to notify their school registrar if changes occur during the school year.

Text Messaging Option
Parents may receive SMS text messages to their cell phones in emergency situations.  To get text messages, parents must "opt-in" online at www.alertnowsms.com. The PIN number for the Rockwood School District is RSDk12. Find out more.

Message Replay
Do you think you might be missing AlertNow phone or email messages? To replay or review previous AlertNow messages from Rockwood, parents may go to www.alertnowmessage.com. Enter the 10-digit phone number or email address to be checked and click the "Search" button. Find out more.

Attendance Calling
Parents of middle and high school students receive phone messages regarding their child's unexcused absences from school.  Find out more.

Parents can receive two types of information from AlertNow:
1) Emergency

• Caller ID will display a 411 if the message is for an emergency.
• Emergency or crisis messages will be delivered to all phone numbers identified in the student system, including all parent cell and work phone numbers (up to five phone numbers).
• Types of calls include the following: school cancellations for inclement weather the day of school closings and crisis notifications for district/school emergencies, such as a school evacuation or early dismissal.

2) Informational

• Caller ID will display the school's main number.
• Informational messages will be delivered to the one phone number designated as a household number.
• Types of calls include:  school cancellations for inclement weather the evening before a school closing and general, school-specific announcements. 

The successful delivery of information is dependent upon two things:

1) Accurate contact information for each student:

• Check your family's phone numbers and email addresses on the Infinite Campus Portal. If you or your child do not have an Infinite Campus account, find out how you can get one >>
• Look for the Census Verification form in your child's school orientation materials. Be sure to check the contact phone numbers and email addresses to ensure their accuracy at the beginning of each school year.
• If your contact information changes, please notify the school registrar immediately. AlertNow receives an upload of student contact information each evening.

2) Technology requirements and answering machine settings:

• Be sure to say "Hello" when you answer the phone. The technology must hear a voice to deliver the message.
• Messages in progress may be restarted from the beginning by pressing 1.
