Fall WiLD Scout Adventures Now Available!
 

Earn your scout badges while having a great time at Babler State Park! We offer badge programs on teacher professional development days and after school by appointment. Call the Outdoor Education Center office at 636-458-3048 to register for a convenient time for your scout group for any of the WiLD Scout Adventures. Stay up to date on the latest news and see all badge programs we offer at our website!

Plants and Animals (2 hour activity) - September 13, 14 or 15
Join us as we investigate plants and animals from the biggest tree to the smallest hummingbird! We’ll discover the importance of place, explore animal adaptations and collect samples to take home! Visit our website for a description of each badge program and others we offer!
Webelos- Forester
Wolf- Birds
Brownies- Plants
Juniors- Plants and Animals

Fee: $5 per Wolf/Brownie scout (1.5 hour activity); $6 per Webelos/ Junior scout

Orienteering (2 hour activity) - October 11 or 12
Learn all about maps, how to use a compass and why “Fred is in the Shed!” Discover the different types of maps, how to use a topographical map and how to gauge distance and time. Then, use a map and compass to navigate an orienteering course at Babler and find out everything you need to know about this very important scouting skill! Meets all or most of the requirements for the Cub Scout Map and Compass belt loop and pin, Junior Finding Your Way Badge and Cadette Orienteering badge.

Fee: $6 per scout

Explore Your World Cub Scout Programs (2 hour activity)
December 6, 7 or 8
Geography Belt Loop and Pin
Together we’ll explore our neighborhood, the park and the state as we learn about geography. By studying maps, learning key terms and tracing routes left by famous explorers we’ll learn more about the world around us, here at home and abroad!

Fee: $6 per scout

Wildlife Conservation Belt Loop and Pin
Join us as we learn about endangered animals, talk about conservation of natural resources and participate in food chain activities. We’ll also learn about animal classifications, study camouflage and create an animal track to take home!

Fee: $6 per scout
