Nominees may include students, parents, staff, community members or organizations. 

Listed below are a few examples of activities and achievements that may be considered for an Above and Beyond Award:

• Having completed a term as an officer of a state or national office of an education-related organization
  
• Chairing or co-chairing a major Rockwood districtwide event or committee
  
• A major contribution of capital, supplies or equipment ($5,000 or more) that will enhance education in the Rockwood School District
  
• An act of life-saving heroism performed by a student or an adult
  
• Creation of an innovative educational or service program that has made a lasting positive impact on the Rockwood School District, an individual school or the community
  
• An extensive commitment to a project or program promoting the goals, objectives and mission of an individual school or the Rockwood School District
