Nominees may include students, parents, staff, community members or organizations.
Listed below are a few examples of the types of activities and achievements that may be considered for a Board of Education Award:
- A superior accomplishment or achievement recognized at the state or national level relating to any curricular area of education
- A scholastic achievement such as National Merit Semi-Finalist, a Missouri Scholars’ Academy commendation or selection to the Missouri Fine Arts Academy
- The equivalent of first or second place in a state or national competition achieved by a team or individual
- The equivalent of a Superior (I) rating at a state or national music competition.
- Designation as first or second-team All-State from Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA).
Recipients will be recognized at the completion of the highest level of their competition.
