It takes many people to work alongside the administration, faculty and staff at our school, to maintain the quality of education our children receive and what we have come to expect at Chesterfield Elementary School.  A list of Committees, including a brief description of each, is given below.  Please consider chairing a committee or serving on a committee!  View our volunteer page to see a list of chair people for each committee.

OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT
Plans and executes the Outdoor Movie Night in the fall as a back to school event. 

SOCK HOP
Organizes, set up, host, serve and clean up the annual Sock Hop social event in October.

DADS' EVENT
Plans and executes the night out for Dads' and their child(ren) in the spring.

READING WEEK
Parent volunteers needed to dress up in Cat in the Hat costume (provided) and read stories in the classrooms one day in the spring.

FIELD DAY
Organize and execute outdoor games, races and snacks for the children the last week of school in May.

CARDINAL'S GAME NIGHT
Volunteers needed to take orders and distribute tickets for a Cardinal's game in the spring.

FIFTH GRADE PROMOTION
Plan and execute activities for the 5th grade promotion all year long!

HOLIDAY GIFT GIVING AND OUTREACH
Committee members visit classrooms to explain the project to children, assemble gift tags, collect gifts and organize.  Committee will also collect donations of various goods throughout the year to benefit the children in the greater St. Louis area.

INDOOR BEAUTIFICATION
Committee decorates the indoor space of the school for holidays and school activities.  Committee also works on projects to spruce up the inside of the building.

NEW FAMILY WELCOME
Committee provides support throughout the year for the new families of Chesterfield Elementary.

OUTDOOR BEAUTIFICATION
Committee is responsible for decorating the outside areas of the school for holidays and seasons during the year.  Also responsible for organizing two clean-up days for the Chesterfield Elementary School grounds.

STAFF APPRECIATION
Committee provides the staff with various tributes throughout the year.

RED RIBBON WEEK
Volunteers work with counselor and principal to plan daily activities to involve students and staff during the week of drug awareness in October.

PARENT SUPPORT GROUP
Parents with children who have special learning needs.  Parents meet to discuss how to help children get the best education possible.  Group meets 4-5 times a year.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES
Volunteers distribute and collect school supplies from the SchoolKidz orders, first week of August.

BIRTHDAY BOOK CLUB
Volunteers notify parents of participation opportunities during the month prior to the student's birthday, aid in the filling of book orders, create a memento for the BBC members and post on the BBC bulletin board in the library.

CAFETERIA ASSISTANTS
Volunteers needed to assist staff in the cafeteria during lunch.  Must be available during an entire lunch period (11:20 - 1:40).

COPY ROOM
Volunteers fill teacher requests for copying in the school copy room.

HEAD ROOM PARENTS
Coordinate and execute two classroom parties a year. Help with teacher appreciation day in May.

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT
Volunteers collaborate with school counselor to plan/recruit volunteers to teach a one week program that exposes students to community relations and jobs in our community.  Also coordinate with 5th grade teachers the 5th grade field trip to the Junior Achievement Complex in the spring.

LIBRARY ASSISTANTS
Volunteers help re-shelve books and other library duties as needed.

ONE TIME VOLUNTEER
Volunteers are needed to help out for various school events, some scheduled and some unscheduled.  Your name will be put on a list and you will be contacted if there is a need. 

POPCORN/HELIUM TANK
Manage popcorn and helium tank needs and keeps enough supplies on hand based on need.

SPIRIT WEAR
Committee helps sell and distribute Chesterfield Spirit Wear.

BUTTONS
Committee makes the identification buttons for volunteers and birthday buttons for students during the school year.

CHARGER DADS
Committee promotes and organizes Charger Dad volunteers.

AUCTIONS
Volunteers needed to secure auction items.

GENERAL MILLS BOX TOPS/CAMPBELL SOUP LABELS
Small committee that collects box tops and Campbell Soup labels and submits for incentives for the children.

HOLIDAY BOUTIQUE
Committee will coordinate vendors, refreshments, silent auction, set up and take down of event in the fall.

BOOK FAIR
Volunteers are needed to set-up/take down displays, solicit and prepare wish list from the teachers and help students and parents select and purchase books from the selections.

ICE CREAM CHAIR
Purchases ice cream and coordinates grade level volunteers to sell ice cream during all CES class musicals and strings concerts.

CULTURAL ARTS
Plans school-wide assemblies that expose children to creative experiences in arts and other cultures.

DIRECTORY/BUZZ BOOK
Compile, assemble and distribute student directory.  Responsible for updates throughout the year, computer experience and must.
