The Rockwood School District participates in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs. This allows families the opportunity to apply for Free and Reduced Price Meal Benefits. Applications are available from the Child Nutrition Services Office, online or the School Office. Income information is treated very confidentially.

Meal Definitions Under the National School Lunch Program
 
Rockwood Breakfast:

A student must select a minimum of three of the four required food components for a complete breakfast. A student may select up to four of the components for the meal price.

Required groups:	Rule:	Examples of items in the group:
Meat/Meat Alternate AND/OR Grains	May select two grains, or two meats or one meat & one grain	Cereal & Muffin (2 grains) or Scrambled Eggs & Sausage (2 meats) or Biscuit & Sausage (meat & grain) or Breakfast Pizza (meat & grain)
Fruit/Juice/Vegetable	May select one	100% Juice, Fruit Cup, Fresh Fruit
Milk	May select one	Fluid Milk: 1% or Skim White, Skim Chocolate, Skim Vanilla, Skim Strawberry, Skim Cookies & Cream

Rockwood Lunch:

A student must select a minimum of three of the five required food components including a fruit or vegetable for a complete lunch. A student may select up to five required food components.

Grains	May select one	Spiral Pasta, Rice, Biscuit, Breadstick
Fruit/Juice	May select one (HS may select up to two)	Fresh Fruit, Fruit Cup, Frozen Fruit, 100% Juice
Vegetables	May select up to two	Hot Vegetable of the Day, French Fries, Mashed Potatoes, Cole Slaw, Fresh Vegetables, Side Salad
Milk	May select one	Fluid Milk: 1% or Skim White, Skim Chocolate, Skim Vanilla, Skim Strawberry, Skim Cookies & Cream
Bonus Items	May select one	Pudding, Cookies, Brownies

Items taken that are not part of the meal or are in addition to the meal are considered a la carte and will be charged separately.
