Purpose:
The Coordinated School Health Council is a group of individuals from the school and community who are committed to improving the overall quality of each student's health, to help them succeed academically, socially, emotionally, and physically, for a lifetime. Coordinated School Health is a program by which school districts and individual school coordinate and collaborate efforts to focus on improving the health and well being of students, staff and community. It is based on the eight component model, each each of which may or may not be present in a school system. The Coordinated School Health model stresses the need to strengthen the eight components and coordinate their joint efforts to enhance the health and well being of all members of the school community.
