Taking learning to new heights, join Rockwood Trek and Travel as we head west to explore Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park. This trip is for Rockwood students currently enrolled in 6th, 7th and 8th grade.
Overview
Rockwood middle school students will have the opportunity to travel to Tetons Science Schools in Jackson, WY and explore Grand Tetons National Park and Yellowstone National Park. This weeklong trek allows students to put their science skills in action as they learn about geology, ecology, weather, and plant and animal adaptations in one of the most biologically diverse and geologically unique areas of the world.

Fee: $995
A $200 deposit is due at time of registration. The remainder may be paid in 3 additional installments by November 11 ($265), January 6 ($265) and February 17 ($265) via credit card/debit card or check. Limited scholarship assitance is available to those who qualify on a first-come, first-served basis until the funds are exhausted. Contact 636-458-3048 for more scholarship information.
Note: The fee has been adjusted for this year to meet the district requirement that all trips are self-funded and fees cover the cost for all expenses.
Registration
The Teton Trek is open to all 6th, 7th and 8th grade students currently enrolled at a Rockwood School District middle school. Registration will open Saturday, October 1 at 9 a.m. Registrations must be submitted by the parent or legal guardian for the child. Register online or in-person at the Administrative Annex, 500 N. Central, Eureka, MO 63025. In-person registration will be held from 9 a.m. - 12 noon. Registration forms will not be made available prior to October 1.
About Online Registration: In order to register online, you will need to create an account in the Community Education online registration system (if you do not already have one). In addition, your child must be added to your account prior to registering him/her for the trip program.
Accommodations for Students with Disabilities
Reasonable accommodations will be made to afford students with disabilities an equal opportunity to participate. Travel and Lodging Accommodations
We will travel by charter bus to Teton Science School in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Located less than two miles from the town of Jackson, the Jackson Campus is nestled on a 900-acre site comprised of creeks, ponds, aspen, conifer and sage habitats. We will stay in comfortable, dormitory-style housing with shared bathrooms in recently constructed high performance buildings. Learn more about the Teton Science Schools at www.tetonscience.org.
