Crestview Award Program (CAP)
"Growing Tomorrow’s Citizens”
The Crestview Award Program (CAP) is designed to recognize student participation and achievement in the areas of:
- School Involvement
- Academics
- Extracurricular Activities
- Community Service
- Citizenship
- Attendance
The program’s goal is to promote the development of well-rounded students…tomorrow’s citizens by encouraging students to be involved in their school community, foster their own interests through participation in extracurricular activities, contribute to their community through service, achieve academic success, and demonstrate sound conduct and attendance.
Students may apply for the Crestview Award Program (CAP) during 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarters based upon their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarter performance.
The program has been enhanced for the 2011-2012 school year to provide opportunities for all students to achieve a CAP level. Students will have the opportunity to earn community service points while at school. Additionally, students showing academic progress will earn additional points. Lastly, the new application form has reduced the number of sponsor signatures required.
CAP is a student driven program with each individual taking responsibility for completing his/her application, obtaining the required signatures, and submitting the form by the deadline.
Points are awarded for participation in activities or achievement in each of the above listed areas. The overall point level determines the participant’s award level and incentives. A student can achieve one of three levels: Excellence, Honors, and Achievement.
Examples of incentives a student earns with CAP include:
- Coupons and discounts to area restaurants and businesses
- T-shirts
- Raffle prizes
- Bonus Crestfest time
- First in line lunchtime privileges
- Recognition as a CAP student
