6th Grade French
This exploratory French class will focus on culture, listening, and speaking beginning level French expressions, writing and reading those expressions at an introductory level. Concepts such as the alphabet, calendar, classroom objects and commands, numbers, colors, greetings, family, body parts, and basic understanding of French-speaking countries will be taught. This course will help students prepare for more French language learning in 7th & 8th grades.
7th Grade French I A
This elective course, the first in a two-part sequence, provides students with the necessary foundation for the continued study of French through Level V. It presents basic structure and grammar of the French language, and at the same time, encourages conversation with the introduction of basic vocabulary. Cultural activities introduce the student to customs, geography and French speaking countries.
8th Grade French I
(Prerequisite: French I A. A grade of C or higher is recommended)
This elective course continues to present basic structure and grammar of the French language, and at the same time encourages conversation with the introduction of basic vocabulary. Cultural activities introduce the student to customs, geography and French speaking countries. This course completes the two-part sequence of Level I at the Middle school level and prepares the student for success in Level II at the High school level.
