The use of technology will prepare students to become members of a technological society. Students are empowered to be active learners by using technological tools. Technology will help students access and process information, preparing them to be life long learners.
The Rockwood Technology Competencies are designed to identify key skills by grade level and provide a framework to show connections where technology is already included in the Curriculum. The competencies are directly aligned to the National Educational Technology Standards developed by the Department of Education and the International Society for Technology in Education. The end goal is helping students become technologically literate by the end of the eighth grade.
