Self Assessment: The district will engage a broad cross-section of representatives from across the district, its schools and the broader community. Seven continuous improvement teams will review the seven standards of AdvancED: Vision and Purpose, Governance and Leadership, Teaching and Learning, Documenting and Using Results, Resource Support and Systems, Stakeholder Communications and Relationships and a Commitment to Continuous Improvement.
Quality Assurance Review: Following this internal review, district administrators will host an AdvancED team comprised of trained professionals from across the nation and state. The review team will visit the district and several schools in November 2010 to evaluate the district’s self-assessment, determine the degree to which the district meets the AdvancED accreditation standards, and make a recommendation of accreditation.
In April 2006, the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), and National Study of School Evaluation (NSSE) came together to form one strong unified organization dedicated to education quality. That unified organization, known as AdvancED, creates the world's largest education community.
