Safe Celebration Efforts
Students will be encouraged to celebrate prom and graduation season in a safe and sober manner again this spring. "PROMise to celebrate safe and sober" messages will be shared by many community partners, including businesses and schools with marquee signs, floral and tuxedo rental companies, and limousine services, hotels and parents.
Parents will be reminded that "Those Who Host Lose the Most" with yard signs, posters and a message from Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch.
A parent tip sheet with useful prom night suggestions and non-emergency police phone numbers is provided here.
Similar efforts were implemented this past fall to ensure Rockwood teens celebrated
Homecoming week safely. High school students created projects promoting alcohol and drug free celebrations; parent tip sheets were shared; police party patrols were increased; and signs/marquees were used for community messages.
