Screening

What is screening?
Screening is the process  of reviewing the development of your child. Using the DIAL-4 and the ASQ, our trained personnel evaluate your child and then conference with you to report their summary.
What type of screening is available?
Sensory Screening (Ages 6 months to 3 years) The 30 minute screening includes a review of your child’s overall health, vision assessment and hearing screening by a registered nurse. A summary statement will be given to the family for your records.

Developmental Screening (Ages 3 years to Pre-K) Rockwood Early Childhood uses the DIAL-4 to assess across domains: motor, concepts, and language. The screening takes approximately 1 ½ hours. The assessment includes a vision and hearing screening by a registered nurse as well as a personal conference to review the results of the screening. (3/4 screenings have ended for this school year and kindergarten screenings begin)

**Kindergarten readiness screenings take place at different locations within the district. (Early Childhood Centers, Annex, ...) Please check with your school to determine screening location.
