Buzz Book:
Volunteers are asked to help bind the books and help distribute finished books at September parent/teacher conference evenings and possibly at lunch the following week. Time commitment is during and after school.
Chairperson(s) compile the data and prepare it for printing.
Character Education:
Volunteers help set up, serve, and clean up for a monthly breakfast that honors selected students. The annual Veteran's Day Lunch is also an opportunity to help set up, serve, and clean up.
Chairperson(s) obtain food donations (most often Bread Co.), purchase paper supplies and other items, coordinate a monthly breakfast and the annual Veteran's Day luncheon.
Class Representatives:
Volunteers help class officers plan and implement fund raisers, all culminating to planning and executing a successful Senior Celebration for your student’s graduation night. Time commitment varies, with both day and evening activities. Donations gladly accepted!
Officers steer each class’s efforts towards their Senior Celebration, including event planning and maintaining the class budget.
Educational Enhancement:
Rather than a committee of volunteers, this consists of one/two chairperson(s) who work with a team of staff members to prioritize and authorize purchase requests made by staff to enhance their curriculum.
Homecoming Decorations:
Volunteers help chairperson(s) decorate for the homecoming dance. Volunteers can also sign up to donate decorations, etc. Time commitment is after school.
Chairpersons coordinate homecoming decorations.
Hospitality:
Volunteers can donate selected menu items and/or help serve dinners to teachers/staff on conference afternoons, and provide snacks for Open House and other selected functions.
Chairperson(s) coordinate teacher dinners and other function treats.
Landscaping:
Volunteers would work with the chairperson(s) to plant and maintain the campus landscaping. Most of the work is done in the Fall & Spring, likely after school hours as determined by the chairperson.
Chairperson(s) coordinates landscaping plans with administration as well as secures donations from local nurseries (including mums traditionally donated for homecoming).
Orientation/Members/Volunteers:
Volunteers would be called throughout the year to help with a variety of events not covered by other committees (i.e. nurse screenings, teacher requests, etc.). Since Orientation is done before the school year, signing up for this committee shows an intention to help at next year’s orientation. Time commitment is commonly during school hours/days.
Chairperson(s) compiles volunteer information from buzz book forms to distribute to committees, as well as calling volunteers for various functions throughout the year and the following year’s Orientation.
Renaissance:
Volunteers assist in distributing monthly treats to students or other events planned by chairperson. Time commitment is during the school day, unless making donations.
Chairperson(s) coordinate treats/events with staff.
Scholarship:
Volunteers may not have a Senior student. Committee reviews applications, interviews qualifying candidates, and selects scholarship winners based on a point system. Intensive time commitment in the Spring (after Spring Break).
Chairperson(s) coordinates all volunteers for the scholarship selection process and attends award ceremony.
School Store:
Volunteers would work morning (8:00-8:30) or lunch (11:15-1:15) shift working the school store: selling items, restocking, and preparing daily deposit.
Chairperson responsibilities divided into: purchasing/inventory, school supplies purchasing/inventory, volunteer coordinator, volunteer communications, and stocking/cleaning supervisor.
Spirit Wear:
Volunteers would assist chairperson(s) in unloading inventory and filling orders, with possible sales work to be determined by chairperson.
Chairperson(s) determine designs, place orders, and coordinate sales of items.
Staff Appreciation:
Volunteers would be asked to donate food/treats and/or help serve/distribute treats throughout the school year for special staff occasions (i.e. Nurse’s Day, Secretary’s Day, etc.). If interested, volunteers can assist chairperson(s) in determining treats and gifts.
Chairperson(s) coordinates calendar and determines/purchases/prepares treats.
