About Reading Intervention...
There are three stages in the K-5 Reading Intervention program; each stage has approximate criteria to qualify students for the program.
Stage 1
- At or below the 10th percentile in Total Reading on standardized tests with checks against STAR, Gates, phonemic assessments, and teacher recommendation
- Grades K-1 1 to 2 ratio for 30 minutes daily
- Grades 2-5 1 to 6 ratio for 60 minutes daily.
Stage 2
- At or between the 11th – 35th percentile in Total Reading on standardized tests with checks against STAR, Gates, phonemic assessments and teacher referrals
- Grades K 1 to 4 ratio for 30 minutes daily
- Grades 1-5 1 to 6 ratio for 30 minutes daily.
Stage 3
- At or below the 36th – 49th percentile in Total Reading on standardized tests with checks against STAR, Gates, phonemic assessments, and teacher referral
- Grades 1-5 1 to 6 ration for 30 minutes 4 to 5 times a week
