Tiger's GIVE beacuse we CARE!

“I’m a TIGER and we GIVE because we CARE!”  These are the words that drive the success of all of our character initiatives.  Last week we held our third annual Blood Drive with the American Red Cross.  Geggie’s goal was to secure 110 pre-registered donors.  We had 114 attempted donors equating 95 useable pints of blood collected!  Wow!  We also celebrated 10 donors who were able to donate double red cells on the Alyx Machine.  These donors are especially critical as their blood types are in high need and the double red cells go directly to hospitals that night!  We recognized 24 “First Time Ever” donors which was the highest number of NEW donors ever to come forward in our annual drive.  Our running total shows an AMAZING 311 different Geggie families that have participated over the past three years!  What a tremendous achievement for our entire school community!

We cannot thank YOU enough for your help and support with this amazing cause!  The American Red Cross extends their appreciation and commends the Geggie community for their outreach and “gift of life.”  One thing is certain, we can never underestimate the power of a GEGGIE TIGER!

Hannah Salmons has been growing her hair out for Locks of Love. Today she went to get her hair cut!  Hannah was so excited about being able to help others...we are so proud of her for always being so caring.

Volunteering to Give Blood

May 2 is Geggie's 4th Annual Blood Drive, sponsored by The Character Kids Council. With the help of parents, staff and community members, Geggie hopes to collect more than 75 pints of blood. The Blood Drive is truly a school-wide effort as students will greet donors, talk with donors while they donate and help promote the event. In addition, each student is encouraged to find an adult volunteer to give blood as the theme of the Blood Drive is, "I Stand for You." To participate, please register online at redcrossblood.org (Enter Sponsor Code: Geggie) OR call 1-800-RED CROSS Appointments are encouraged. Walk-ins will be welcomed upon availability. Please bring a Photo I.D.
