7th Grade Theme: Survival
A requisite for all life forms is survival. Whether it is the simplest microorganism or the most complex creature on earth, survival is the "prime directive." Man, with his vast range of capabilities and behaviors, has responded to the pressures of survival in a variety of ways. During the seventh-grade year, survival will be studied from several points of view. Students will research man's impact on the environment, study the relationship of man to his environment, and explore man's prospects for survival in the future. Units for this year may include natural and manmade disasters, overcoming injustice, and future studies. In addition, students will examine life strategies used by effective teens.
