What To Expect In PE
What To Expect In PE

Morning and afternoon kindergarten children have 30 minutes of Physical Education two days per week.  Full day kindergarten children and students in grades first through fifth have 30 minutes of Physical Education-Health four days per week.

Health is taught and integrated into all physical education lessons.  Third through fifth grade students will be issued a health book for assigned reading homework.  First and second grade students do health assignments in class.  CPS clickers will be used throughout the year to assess student progress in health.
Heart Rate Sticks are technology tools used in physical education-heath class.
A health-related physical fitness test, the FITNESSGRAM, is administered to students in first through fifth grade to determine each child’s fitness level.  The fitness test measures endurance, strength, flexibility, and body composition.
