Kellison Connection September 30, 2011
Can you believe that October begins this weekend? The time is flying by so fast. I wanted to thank all the parents and family members that were able to attend party day. The parties were so much fun and the children had a blast. Our school photographers went around making sure we had several pictures. They will be on the website shortly.
We have a very busy week coming up. Here are some highlights:
Monday (October 3rd) - Fire Prevention Day
Tuesday (October 4th) - School Picture Day, McTeacher Night
Wednesday (October 5th) - Walk to School Day
Thursday (October 6th) - 5th Grade Field Trip
Friday (October 7th) - Stripes Day
Here is information about PSO events:
Book Fair-:"To the Book Fair and Beyond" is coming to Kellison Elementary! The Fall Book Fair will be held in the Kellison Library on Tuesday, October 25th and Thursday, October 27th from 2:00pm - 8:00pm. The fair is coinciding with Parent-Teacher conferences in the hopes that you will stop by before or after talking with the teachers. Books will be available to buy that night for your kids as well as for your child's classroom. We are in great need of volunteers to help us run the Book Fair. We are looking for people to set-up the Wednesday before the fair, help with Student Previews on the Thursday and Friday before the fair, and help with the actual fair on Tuesday and Thursday.
If you are interested in volunteering for an hour or so, please go to this site: http://www.volunteerspot.com/login/entry/882345634184998060
Follow the directions and sign up for a spot or two. Thank you so much for supporting our Book Fair and Kellison in any way that you possibly can!

Walk to School: Wednesday, October 5th is Walk to School Day! During National Health Week Kellison Elementary students will participate in the National Walk to School Day. The idea is to walk to school together with a purpose – to promote health and physical activity while building those relationships with friends. There are established routes in the neighborhood for you to walk with your child to school that day. More information will be posted on the schools web site on Monday. A flyer is coming home on Monday with details/map of the route and the parent volunteers. Thank you in advance, to our Parent Volunteers who are going to be on route for safety. All students will enter school on time at 8:10 AM. Sponsored by Caring Schools Community
