2012 LANCER AWARDs

 

 

 

Lafayette Renaissance is proud to present another student recognition program.  Every quarter, selected students are going to receive either 10 SUBS or 10 BURRITOS via a rotating schedule...  This program is being sponsored by Penn Station and Qdoba.

A selected set of departments every quarter have the opportunity to nominate a student of their choice to receive the free subs or free burritos!!!

Lafayette is soliciting copies of articles and awards about student and faculty recognition in the community.  The "brag board" is prominently displayed in the walkway between the cafeteria and the Welcome Center and is adorned with articles and awards that have been bestowed upon our students and faculty.

If you have anything you may deem worthy of public display on the "brag board," please contact John Shaughnessy or Justin Bottorff or click the logo on the left to complete an online announcement that you can email to Justin Bottorff.

 

 

Lafayette is soliciting nominations for the Student of the Month.  Every month, a student from each grade level will be chosen for the award and will be provided a free lunch with the principal and also be recognized at the APA.

If you have anyone you may deem worthy of this prestigious recognition, please contact Deborah Parker or click the logo on the left to complete an online nomination form that you can email to Deborah Parker.

  Achievement

  • Academic Excellence Program: Students are recognized and rewarded for academic achievement on the basis of letter grades earned. The categories are as follows:

GOLD: Students achieve an "A" grade in every subject or the equivalent grade in a weighted class.

SILVER: Student achieve an "A" and/or "B" grade in every subject or the equivalent grade in a weighted class.

BRONZE: Student achieve an "A" and/or "B" grade in every subject or the equivalent grade in a weighted class and allowed one grade of "C".

MOST IMPROVED: Students raise two subject grades one full letter grade between quarters within the same semester. They must maintain the same grade in other subjects and receive no F's.
Teacher Recommendation Required.

          Students receive a complimentary T-shirt and a discount card during the  
          Academic Recognition Assembly held each semester.

          An added feature of this program is the Renaissance Student of the Week.
          One Renaissance student is selected in a random drawing and receives          
          complimentary pizzas to be shared with the Principal and friends during their
          normal lunch period.

  • Academic Excellence Medals: Recognizes those students that graduate from Lafayette High School with a cumulative grade point average of 4.0 or higher.
  • AFJROTC Renaissance Award Program: AFJROTC students are recognized for academic achievement per criteria established in the Academic Excellence Program.
  • Choice Award Program: Each staff member may select one student per school year to receive this award. Criteria may include achievement, citizenship, school spirit, attendance or any other criterion deemed important by the individual staff member.
  • Departmental Honor Societies: Students who achieve departmental-established criteria for seven semesters are eligible.
  • Patron Discount Program  
    • Renaissance Holiday Shopping Program: Renaissance card holders and their families are allowed shopping privileges with special discounts at Local Businesses during the holiday season.
  • Renaissance Certificates of Achievement and/or Appreciation.
  • Renaissance Gold Card Parking: Students who received all "A" grades for three consecutive semesters are eligible.
  • Scholar Athlete Program/Scholar Performer Program: Students who combine both academic excellence with athletic/artistic performance will be recognized at their annual sports/artistic banquet.
  • Student of the Month Program: Complimentary luncheons are provided once a month for students representing each of the four grade levels.
  • World Language Student of the Month: One student per World Language Teacher is recognized monthly for their academic excellence in that subject. Students receive a gift certificate to the Lancer Landing and a keepsake congratulatory certificate.
