Each class will take the lead on the above dates/locations. We do have some flexibility so if you have a conflict with a specific weekend, you can volunteer on an alternate weekend.

Lafayette Renaissance Night at Sports Fusion - Thursday, October 29th!!
The Lafayette Renaissance night at Sports Fusion is Thursday, October 29th from 4 - 9 pm!! People of all ages and schools are welcome. Tickets are $20, which gets you 2 hours of unlimited fun! The last entrance time is 7 pm. Buy your tickets THIS week at lunch Tuesday through Thursday, or from any steering committee member. Tickets for this event may not be purchased at the door.
Don't forget!! Tonight is the final night for parent/teacher conferences for 1st semester. Teachers will be available for 10 minute conferences between 4:30-8:00 pm. Hope to see you there!
Students today are faced with numerous challenges. To help parents understand and manage those challenges, the Rockwood School District offers a series of helpful, interactive workshops.
The Rockwood Parent Series engages top experts, parents and school staff to become proactive and informed in pursuit of the mutual goal to strengthen our communities.
The title of our next workshop is "Mental Health" and will be presented on Thursday, September 17 at 7-8pm in the LHS Theater. This workshop is recommended for parents with students K thru 12.
Following is a brief description of this workshop:
Mental Health - Join us for great learning and conversation around various mental health conditions that are impacting our children in today's world. What are some symptoms of common mental health conditions? How can one diagnose this? Knowing about this can help you be better prepared to understand what you or a loved one is going through.
Juniors have the opportunity to explore careers and shadow experts throughout the school year. Students that are interested must fill out a yellow PIE form by Tuesday, September 15th to be eligible. Applications are available in the Junior Office.
The Powderpuff game between the junior and senior ladies will be on Thursday, October 1st at 7:00 pm. Any junior girl interested in participating will need to sign up in the junior office starting tomorrow, September 9th-September 25th. Teams must include 10 girls and 1 parent coach.

Shirts will cost $10 and will be on sale in the commons during lunch Wednesday-Friday.
Please remember that we will be dismissing on Friday at 12:!8 pm. LHS staff will be attending a required intruder training beginning at 12:30 pm. Due to the nature of the training, the building will be closed to all students from 12:30-3:30 pm. Please be sure that your student has transportation home after school on Friday. Tomorrow night is our first football game of the season! We will be playing Eureka on their turf (literally) at 7:00 pm. Tickets will be available for purchase in the commons during lunch tomorrow for $5 each. You can also buy tickets at the door. We hope to see everyone supporting our Lancers at the game tomorrow!
