In the MSHSAA State Debate Tournament,

Chris Dopuch took second place in Lincoln-Douglas Debate

Matt Johnson/Rohit Gummi took third place in Policy Debate.   

 

Speech & Debate participated in the MSHSAA Distrct with the following results.   

  • Chris Dopuch First place in Lincoln Douglas debate
  • Aaron Malin second in Lincoln Douglas debate
  • Katie Leslie second in storytelling
  • Ashley Kuykendall third in extemporaneous speaking.

At the National Forensic League National Qualfier  

  • MHS took First as a team in Sweepstakes
  • All eight students below have qualified to compete in the National Tournament this summer in Dallas, Tx.
  • Of the four Lincon Douglas Debaters being sent from the St. Louis Area, three are from Marquette:
    Chris Dopuch First Place in Lincoln Douglas Debate
    Aaron Malin Second Place in Lincoln Douglas Debate
    Ashley Kuykendall Third Place in Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking and Fourth Place in Lincoln Douglas Debate
  • Of the three Policy Debate teams being sent from the St. Louis Area, two are also from Marquette:
    Matt Johnson and Bayley Flint First Place in Policy Debate
    Stephen Ahal and Rohit Gummi Second Place in Policy Debate

Cameron Carlson First Place in his house in Student Congress and Fourth Place in Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking
