Green Pines kindergarten teacher Suzanne Solon had her pet gecko, John-John, stand in for the most famous ground hog of all, Punxsutawney Phil today.  When the students and Miss Solon tested the gecko’s instincts with a heat lamp in the classroom, he ran right back under his log.   According to John-John, there’s six more weeks of winter on the way. 

Punxsutawney Phil’s Groundhog Day 2010 prediction is also six more weeks of winter and he did see his shadow.  But Buckeye Chuck of Ohio, Staten Island Chuck, Jimmy The Groundhog of Wisconsin, and General Lee Groundhog of Atlanta did not see their shadows.
