Crestview Middle School students in Ellisville assemble and donate more than 300 Kits 4 Kids donation bags as part of a statewide collection project for Haiti. The event was sponsored by Crestview’s Community Service Club. The kits include toothpaste, shampoo, bar of soap, toothbrush, comb and a hand towel packed in a plastic zipper bag.
"The Kits 4 Kids provided an opportunity for our students to participate in a meaningful humanitarian service project,” says Dr. Jill Scheulen Crestview principal.
Kits 4 Kids was coordinated by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Springfield-based Convoy of Hope.
The kits were collected and distributed in Haiti by Convoy of Hope a Springfield-based organization that already has resources on the ground in Haiti. The organization has been in Haiti for three years, serving meals to as many as 11,000 children a day.
