High Schools Named Best in America

Rockwood’s four high schools have been recognized by Newsweek as the best high schools in the country.  The high schools are ranked below.

  • Rockwood Summit – 497
  • Lafayette High School – 508
  • Marquette High School – 585
  • Eureka High School – 676

Newsweek determined the best 1,000 high schools based on the following six criteria:

  • four-year graduation rate (25 percent)
  • college-acceptance rate (25 percent)
  • number of Advanced Placement (AP) and other high-level exams given per student (25 percent)
  • average SAT/ACT scores (10 percent)
  • AP/college-level test scores (10 percent)
  • number of AP courses offered per student (5 percent)

“We’re proud all four Rockwood high schools are on America's Best High Schools’ list,” said Rockwood Superintendent Bruce Borchers, Ph.D.  “This distinction reflects the hard work of our students and the commitment of our staff and school communities to provide students with exceptional learning opportunities.”

Rockwood’s four high schools are among the 14 Missouri schools named to this list.  Learn more.

Wasn't there a list published recently by US News as well that listed Marquette within the top 5?  What an achievement!  Way to go Marquette!
