The Board of Education has selected Dr. Eric Knost as the finalist for the Rockwood Superintendent of Schools position.
Since 2011, Dr. Knost has served as the superintendent of the Mehlville School District. Prior to becoming superintendent, he served as the Deputy Superintendent and North Area Superintendent for Mehlville. He was also the principal of Oakville High School. Dr. Knost was an assistant principal at Parkway North High School in the Parkway School District before his tenure in Mehlville. He has previous experience in the Rockwood School District as an Administrative Intern at Woerther Elementary, as the director of bands at Marquette High School and as a band director for several other schools in the district.
Dr. Knost received his Ed.D. from St. Louis University and his master’s degree from Lindenwood University. He has a bachelor’s degree in Instrumental Music/Education from Webster University.
“In all of my years as an educator I have carried with me a personal mission of helping all kids thrive in this world,” shares Dr. Knost. “To me, this commitment is paramount over every task in the field of education. Regardless of where my career takes me, my mission will always remain the same. I look forward to sharing this mission with Rockwood staff, students, parents and community members.”
The Board plans to vote to approve the contract with Dr. Knost at its regularly scheduled meeting this Thurs., Mar. 27.
