Meet the Counselor
Welcome to the 2012-13 school year at Pond! I am excited to have the opportunity to work with your child. This is my third year in the Rockwood District and my second year at Pond. I previously worked in the Columbia and Wentzville School Districts as a Parent Educator with the Parents as Teachers program. I also have a background working in the mental health and disability fields.
As both a parent and counselor, I know that social development is a prerequisite to academic development. My goal is to help your child feel happy and confident at school. It is very important to me that all Pond students feel connected to our school community. Do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of assistance to you or your child.
Mission Statement:
All students will be valued and provided results-based instruction in the areas of Career, Academic, and Personal/Social Development, through a comprehensive guidance program, as they acquire skills, abilities and attitudes that empower them to be lifelong contributing members of society.
Our guidance and counseling program includes:
- CURRICULUM consists of classroom lessons and large group presentations
- INDIVIDUAL PLANNING consists of activities that help all students plan, monitor, and manage their own learning as well as their personal and career development.
- RESPONSIVE SERVICES consists of activities to meet immediate needs and concerns of students.
- SYSTEM SUPPORT consists of management activities that establish, maintain, and enhance the total guidance program.
