Bren Bataclan brings his Smile Art Project to St. Louis and Ridge Students in 5th grade will work directly with the Boston based artist Bren Bataclan on a smile project mural. Our entire school started off the school year getting to know about Bren from his web site. In art class, students were excited to hear about his Boston Smile Art Project. The artist’s motto is “Everything will be all right”. Bren places his happy cartoon style paintings in public spaces all around Boston and the world for people to take for free. Students in grades 1st through 5th designed their own smile designs to display and give away. Students will meet Bren and work with him on developing their own ideas for our school Smile project mural. An original Ridge Meadows’ mural will be painted in the cafeteria
Bren Bataclan’s stop to St. Louis will have several special opportunities for Ridge Meadows students, parents and the community to meet Bren and see his work
Bren’s schedule:
February 5th: Visit the Arch and City
February 6th: MONDAY Bren meets with all 5th graders in the gym to brainstorm mural ideas and begin painting at Ridge Meadows.
MONDAY EVENING: Meet the Artist Night at Marquette High School Theatre, 7 to 8 pm
Everyone is invited to hear all about the Bren Bataclan Smile Project.
Watch him draw; Books will be for sale and a few painting will be given away!!!
February 7th: TUESDAY Bren meets with 5th grade CCL students in the art room, followed by painting at Ridge Meadows.
All school student assembly at Ridge Meadows. Students will bring their art sketch books and draw along with Bren.
February 8th: WEDNESDAY Painting at Ridge Meadows. Pictures and good bye to Bren.
