Rockwood students are renowned for their achievements.  The school district's 30 schools and supporting programs collectively make up one of the highest performing school districts in the country.  The following are some of the highlights of academic achievement in Rockwood.

  • Rockwood students are performing at high levels in the content areas of Reading, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies on state assessment tests.  
  • Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) results show 74.3 percent of all students scored at the top levels for communication arts.  In math, 71.0 percent of all students scored in the top levels: Advanced and Proficient. 
  • On the American College Test (ACT), Rockwood students average a composite score of 24.3, outperforming the state average of 21.6 and the national average of 21.1.  In addition, 241 students in the class of 2011 earned a 30 or higher on this exam.
  • The graduation rate for Rockwood is 94.7 percent. The dropout rate for Rockwood is 1.2 percent.
  • Rockwood's official enrollment for the 2011-12 school year is 22,201.  Class size remain at or below the Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP) standards for all grade levels.  
  • Twenty-four Rockwood students are National Merit Semi-Finalists and twenty-nine Rockwood students are National Merit Commended Scholars with the 2012 National Merit® Scholarship Program.
  • In 2012, 23 Rockwood students were named National Merit Finalists with the National Merit® Scholarship Program.
  • The Duke Talent Identification Program recognized 136 Rockwood middle school students as state and national finalists in 2011.
  • Three Rockwood students are the only students in Missouri to earn the State AP® Scholar Award in 2011.
  • In 2011, Rockwood students took more than 3,500 AP exams and earned a score of 3 or higher on nearly 85 percent of them.
