The inaugural Rockwood Alumni Hall of Fame class includes 13 outstanding graduates:

Craig Caddigan
Lafayette High - 1972
Craig Caddigan graduated from Lafayette High School in 1972. While astronauts probe the depths of space, Craig has probed the depths of our oceans. Since 1982, Caddigan has worked with Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution, Inc. In this role, he has worked as a mechanical submersible technician, lockout diver/tender and diving supervisor. In 1986, Caddigan qualified as a JOHNSON-SEA-LINK Pilot. He is presently working as senior submersible pilot/diving safety officer and an at sea operations director. During this time, he has logged more than 1,300 dives as Pilot of JOHNSON-SEA-LINK I and II.
Caddigan has also participated in many research and/or recovery operations. These include the: search and recovery of the Space Shuttle CHALLENGER; the excavation and documentation of the Civil War Ironclad U.S.S. MONITOR; research cruises to the Galapagos Islands, Great Lakes, Mediterranean; the deep water Canyons off New England, the Bahamas, Gulf of Mexico and the Islands of the Caribbean. These missions have allowed for documentation of deep water environments for scientists, the Discovery Channel, Smithsonian, British Broadcasting Company, National Geographic and IMAX Corporation. His career in underwater exploration has enabled him to venture into worlds that only few will ever see.

Cristopher Cristea 
Lafayette High - 1989
Cristopher Cristea, a 1989 graduate of Lafayette High School, holds a bachelor's of science degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia and a master's of science degree in healthcare administration from Trinity University. Cristea, who lives his life with passion, has been extremely successful in the health care industry, most recently as chief operating officer for Mercy Care Plus. In this role, he was able to provide health care services to people who didn’t have it, while still maintaining profitability. His business successes allowed him to retire early and to pursue his passion for helping children. Cristea's passion enabled him to bring a child from Africa to the U. S. for medical treatment.

Clifford Frazier 
Lafayette High - 1972
Cliff Frazier graduated from Lafayette High School in 1972. Frazier began his collegiate football career at Fort Scott Community College and was subsequently recruited by UCLA coach Dick Vermeil. Frazier was tri-captain of UCLA’s Rose Bowl team, which ultimately defeated the previously unbeaten and top ranked Ohio State Buckeyes in the 1976 Rose Bowl 23-10. Frazier led all defensive players with 13 solo tackles and one assist. Frazier was drafted in the second round of the 1976 NFL draft by the Kansas City Chiefs and played all 14 games for the Chiefs in 1977. He returned to southern California to begin an acting career and appeared in the movie, “North Dallas Forty” and played the part of Jethro Snell in “1st & Ten”.
Frazier’s first love always and continues to be the arts. “I was an artist before I was a football player”, said Frazier. “I just happened to excel athletically and get a big name, but I was always an artist man, always.”

David Freese 
Lafayette High - 2001
David Freese graduated from Lafayette High School in 2001. In high school, Freese was a member of the All-District and All-Metro baseball teams. After playing baseball at St. Louis Community College at Meramac and the University of South Alabama, his professional baseball career began with the San Diego Padres when he was drafted in 2006. In 2008, Freese was traded by the Padres to the Cardinals for Jim Edmonds.
The 2011 regular season was an outstanding one for Freese when he finished with a .297 batting average and had 10 homeruns and 55 RBIs. In the 2011 post-season, he led the Cardinals to their 11th World Series Championship and was named the National League Championship Series (NLCS) and World Series Most Valuable Player. In the 2011 post-season, he hit a total of 21 RBIs, which is a Major League Baseball record, and he was the sixth player to win both the NLCS and World Series MVP Awards in the same year.

Larry Jensen
Lafayette High - 1967
Larry Jensen, a 1967 Lafayette High School graduate, is the president of Leprino Foods of Denver, Colorado. If you have eaten a pizza lately, you have most likely eaten mozzarella cheese produced by Leprino Foods. No other company in the world tops Leprino’s output of mozzarella.
Recently, under Jensen's leadership, this company built a new factory that created 500 jobs and helped keep local dairy farmers in business. You won’t see the name Leprino Foods on cheese labels, but the company is huge, equivalent in revenue to the Molson/Coors Brewing Company. Jensen is also a former Chairman of the National Cheese Institute and presently Chairman of the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy.

Matt Helbig
Rockwood Summit High - 1998
Matt Helbig, a 1998 Rockwood Summit High School graduate, was a track and cross country athlete in high school, and hasn’t stopped running since. Helbig, who was one of the first state champions in Rockwood Summit history (1998 - 800 meter run), earned a bachelor's of science degree from Truman State University where he was a two-time All-American athlete. Helbig holds a master's of education degree in health and human performance from Iowa State University and co-owns Big River Running Company, one of the most successful running specialty stores in the country.
In addition to running this business, Helbig gives back to the community by coaching at Rockwood Summit and supporting local runners with workshops, charity events and sponsored races. Helbig has parlayed his passion for running with his superior management skills to become a successful business owner in the Greater St. Louis area.

Ryan Howard 
Lafayette High - 1998
Ryan Howard, a 1998 Lafayette High School graduate, was involved with the baseball, basketball and band programs as a student. In addition to this, the school yearbook referred to him as, "Homerun Howard" for his success at the plate. Following high school, Howard played baseball at Missouri State University in Springfield.
In 2001, Howard took his game to a higher level when he was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies. In 2005, Howard was named Rookie of the Year. The following year, Howard also earned the National League Most Valuable Player Award. Other notable records include: Home Run Derby Winner, National League Homerun Champion, RBI Leader and 2008 World Series Champion.

Art J. McCoy, II, Ph.D.
Lafayette High - 1995
Dr. Art McCoy graduated from Lafayette High School in 1995. Shortly afterwards, he received a bachelor's degree in secondary education/mathematics from Harris Stowe State University in 1996. He also holds a master's degree in educational leadership and a doctoral degree in education from the University of Missouri, St. Louis.
Dr. McCoy’s greatest gift is his advocacy for the students that he loves and serves. He began his education career by returning to his own high school, Lafayette, as the youngest certified teacher in Missouri at the age of nineteen---serving there for three years. He continued by serving students as a school administrator in the St. Charles, Pattonville, Rockwood and Ferguson-Florissant School Districts. In July, 2011, he was selected as the Superintendent of the Ferguson-Florissant School District – a district of nearly 12,000 students and 2,000 employees. During his career, Dr. McCoy has received many honors, including most recently the 2011 Salute to Excellence Award and the 2011 NAACP Inspiring St. Louis Award of St. Louis City and County. He is also a published author of poetry and two educational books.

Charlotte Miller 
Lafayette High - 1975
Charlotte Miller graduated from Lafayette High School in 1975. Miller received a bachelor's degree from Central Missouri State University and a law degree (J.D.) from the S. J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah in Salt lake City, where she currently lives and enjoys skiing and hiking in the mountains.
She served as a law clerk for Utah Supreme Court Justice I. Daniel Stewart as an attorney in a major Salt Lake law firm and as an executive for several national and international companies. Miller was the first woman elected to serve as a Utah delegate to the American Bar Association and was the second woman to serve as President of the Utah State Bar. In addition, she was named Pro Bono lawyer of the Year as a result of her commitment to programs providing legal services to disadvantaged individuals, and was named one of the fifty most powerful business women in Utah. Miller currently serves as Senior Vice President of People and Great Work at O. C. Tanner Company where she is responsible for human resources support for 1,300 employees. Miller received the most satisfaction from her volunteer work with Big Brothers/Big Sisters and her work on racial and ethnic justice in the Utah Legal System.

Travis Mossotti 
Marquette High - 1998
Travis Mossotti, a 1998 Marquette High School graduate, holds bachelor's degrees in English and French from Webster University and a master's of fine arts degree in poetry from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
Mossotti has been a faculty lecturer at the University of California, Santa Cruz; McKendree University; and Lindenwood University. He was awarded the 2011 May Swenson Poetry Award by contest judge Garrison Keillor for his first collection of poems, About the Dead (USU Press, 2011), and his work has appeared in such places as the Antioch Review, Manchester Review, Poetry Ireland Review, The Writer’s Almanac, and many others. In 2009, he was awarded the James Hearst Poetry Prize from the North American Review by contest judge Robert Pinsky, and in 2010 his poem “Decampment” was adapted to screen as an animated short film.

Kelly Stables Patino 
Lafayette High - 1996
Kelly Stables Patino, a 1996 graduate of Lafayette High School, holds a bachelor's of arts degree in theatre and communications from the University of Missouri, Columbia. Small but mighty, her energy, passion, professional training and magnetic talent have won her places in films, television and the stage.
During her career, she has appeared on numerous shows including: Two and a Half Men, Bones, Mad Love and General Hospital. Her latest series, The Exes, premiered on Nov. 30, 2011 on TV Land. Grounded by family and close life-long friends, she has the character, strength, ideals and savvy career sense that reflect the best of Rockwood in the national arena of theater.

Brent Underwood, Ed.D. 
Lafayette High - 1976
Brent Underwood graduated from Lafayette High School in 1976. He holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from William Jewell College, a master's degree in elementary administration from Northwest Missouri State University and a doctoral degree in education from Saint Louis University. He served in public education for more than 29 years, including eight years as the Superintendent of Webster Groves Public School District. In 2009, he was selected by his peers as the recipient of the Pierce Award as Missouri’s Outstanding Superintendent of the Year.
Dr. Underwood cares about others and is particularly committed to the success of all the students that he serves. He is active in his community as a member of the Webster Groves’ Rotary Club, YMCA team leader, American Cancer Society, area chambers of commerce, his church and numerous other organizations. He was selected as a “Home Town Hero” by Maryland Heights and was also a “Pride of Pattonville” recipient.

Rick Viehland
Eureka High - 1969
Rick Viehland, a 1969 Eureka High School graduate, is best known for his expertise in the fitness world.
He has been a personal trainer and an advocate for healthy active lifestyles. In addition, he has hosted a radio show and written numerous articles dealing with healthy lifestyles and healthy aging.
In 1985, Viehland started The Fitness Store; it eventually grew to five stores in the St. Louis area before he sold the company. His latest business venture is a company called High Performance Health. As owner of this company, Viehland is involved with corporate fitness consulting and personal client fitness lifestyle training. He continues to provide educational and motivational services to companies, organizations and individuals. Among the programs offered through High Performance Health, Stay Fit After 40 has become popular with baby boomers who want to get fit and stay fit.
