Hi! My name is Teala Sacks; this is my first year as counselor at Stanton Elementary and I am so excited to be here! I am entering my eighth year as an elementary school counselor and was a teacher for many years prior to becoming a counselor. After attending the 7 Habits training this summer I was excited to start applying them in my own life and even more excited to see how the students at Stanton apply them in their every day life at school.
My husband, Jeff, and I have 3 incredible kids! Our oldest, Sydney, is 17 and a senior in high school. Our middle child is Jake, 15, and a sophomore in high school. Both attend Timberland High School in the Wentzville School District. Our youngest, Evan, is 12 and is in 7th grade at Frontier Middle School. We have 2 dogs--Juney and Bentley. As a family we love attending each other's sports-related games, going for walks, hanging out at the pool, going on vacations (my kids love to snow ski and I love the beach), and setting up our big screen and projector outside to watch Mizzou games and Cardinals games! We also love having friends and family over to our house, volunteering our time to different organizations and we are very involved in our community.
I am looking forward to learning more about each of our students in the building and I especially look forward to building relationships with Stanton families and the community. Please stop by my room whenever you are in the building and say hello.
Hi! My name is Tina Kilpatrick. I will be at Stanton Elementary each Wednesday helping Teala. It feels like coming full circle to me as I was first hired in Rockwood as a second grade teacher here at Stanton 28 years ago. After having my second child, I left to become a school counselor at Uthoff Valley where I have been the last 18 years. I am still at Uthoff on Mondays and Tuesdays.
On the home front my husband Kevin and I are proud to be parents of two Rockwood students. Living in Eureka, my youngest is a junior at Eureka High School. My oldest also graduating from EHS is now a senior at Mizzou. We also have a new addition to our family; a 1 year old Carolina dog named Seven we adopted from a rescue shelter in Georgia this past spring. I guess I am trying to prepare for the upcoming empty nest syndrome.
It’s nice to see some familiar faces and the many new exciting things happening here at Stanton. I am looking forward to meeting you and working together to be the best leaders we can be.
