In Rockwood, we do whatever it takes to ensure all students realize their potential. This is a strong mission statement, and it guides my work as a Superintendent. During my time with Rockwood, I’ve followed an entry plan with a clear focus. That focus is on my ultimate goal as superintendent, which is to foster a culture in which every school community and department collectively focuses on continuous improvements in learning for all students.
The first step of this entry plan was a listening and learning tour where I met with students, teachers, staff, administrators, parents and community members. These stakeholders had a lot to say about the strengths and weaknesses of our schools. In addition, I’ve had the opportunity to carefully review district data, including the final recommendations of the recent AdvancED accreditation report.

Now it is time for action. It’s important to keep in mind the purpose of this action plan, which is to focus our efforts on continuous improvement. The organizational restructuring is designed to help us be more systemic, focused and aligned with our improvement initiatives that most directly impact overall district effectiveness. The bottom line is to improve the achievement of all students.
