Arrival and Dismissal
Children should not arrive at school before 8:10 a.m. Arriving before this time interrupts valuable teacher planning time and staff meetings. Also, when children arrive early, there are not any staff members to supervise the children, thus we can not guarantee their safety. Thank you for your help in this matter.
Drop Off Procedures
Parents may use the front of the building to drop off their children. Please make sure your child exits the car on the sidewalk side. Please pull up as far as possible toward the end of the school building to allow as many cars as possible to unload at one time. A staff member will be there to assist the children and maintain a safe environment.
Dropping Your Children Off Late?
The Wild Horse office would like to remind everyone that if you are dropping your children off late, you need to come into the office and sign them "in." This will help ensure the safety of your child.
Dismissal
Dismissal will be at 3:13 p.m. For the safety of the students, a note must be sent to the office for any change in a student's dismissal.
You need to send a note when:
- Informing us that you are going to pick up your child
- Your child is attending a scout meeting after school
- Your child is picked up by a day care center or is going to adventure club
- Students who are going to a baby sitter must have a note on file.
- Students who are going home with another student.
If for some reason you need to pick up your child before school is dismissed for the day, please send a note with your child in the morning. When you come to pick up your child, please go to the office and sign him/her out. The secretary will call the classroom for the student Do not go directly to the classroom. the teacher cannot release a student without a call from the office. Finally, we request that if there is a change in your child's dismissal, we need to know prior to 2:30 p.m. This gives us adequate time to notify all the parties involved.
AttendanceGood attendance is an important factor in academic achievement. State law also requires good attendance. We feel that this is a lifetime work habit that students should learn. We intend to notify the parent/guardian with accurate attendance information. Please note the following procedures concerning attendance:
Parent should call by 9:10 a.m. to report to office personnel if his/her child will be absent.
For our records, we are requesting that a note be sent to the office with a returning student after an absence. Notes sent from parents should state the date of absence and the reason for the absence. Please do not wait in the lobby for your child. Staff members will be present every day to assist the students in a safe dismissal.
If the school receives no call and a student is absent, we will make every effort to contact you at home or at work.
Please make an effort to bring your child to school on time since being tardy is also noted on the records.
