Committee Descriptions

Beautification (Interior & Exterior)
Volunteers are needed throughout the year to help with beautification inside and out, such as seasonal displays, bulletin boards, special decorating needs and light landscaping.

Bingo Night (Fri., January 21st)
Come and join us for a fun filled night of BINGO.

Book Fair (Mon., Oct 25th & Wed., Oct 27th/ Mon., Mar 14th & Wed. Mar 16th)
The Book Fair is held on the Parent/Teacher Conference days in October and March. Volunteers are needed during afternoon and evening hours (4-7:30 pm) with sales. Help is also needed for set-up prior to the sale and or take down.

Box Tops for Education
Families are encouraged to save Box Tops. Box Tops are collected on the last day of each month. The school receives $0.10 per Box Top with the proceeds going to fund educational programs for our school. The top winning class each month gets to have Boxer the dog in their room for that month, and the second and third place winning classes each get to have one of the puppies!! Volunteers are needed to help count and sort the Box Tops once a month.

Campbell’s Labels for Education
Families are encouraged to save labels from Campbell’s Soup and Goldfish Products. There is a box available to deposit the labels into. Volunteers are needed to sort and count labels.

Cookie Dough/Sally Foster
This is our Fall fundraiser to sell cookie dough by catalog and wrapping paper and gift items online. Volunteers will be needed during Teacher Conferences on October 25th to help distribute the cookie dough.

Copy Room
Volunteers are needed throughout the year to help with copying, laminating, and collating classroom materials for our staff. The hours are flexible and it also provides a great way to meet teachers and staff of our school.

Fall Carnival (Fri, October 15th 6-8 pm Wild Horse Elementary School)
Enjoy us for an evening of Food and Fun!! Volunteers are needed to help with planning and needed for shifts during the event. Volunteers will help with food distribution, ticket taking and event activities. Help is also needed in prior to and after this event.

Helpful Hands
Throughout the year some of our specialists would like some help from our parents.

Accompanist: Mr. Hoff (Strings) and Mr. Edmundson (Music) are looking for piano accompanist for their concerts and performances.
Art Room Helper: Help Mrs. Jadrich hang student art work throughout the building and occasionally launder paint shirts.
Library Assistants: Help Mrs. Glenn with everyday duties.
Nurses Aids: Help our school nurse Mrs. Beagen with hearing and vision screenings
Picture Day Helpers: Volunteers are needed to assist at Fall Pictures (Tue. Sept 21st)

Holiday Gift Giving
Join this annual tradition at WHE, as volunteers are needed to go shopping for some of our families before the holiday season. Volunteers will be needed to help coordinate gift giving items in mid November and collection in December.

Junior Achievement (3rd Quarter Only!)
Junior Achievement requires only 3 hours of your time. Your talent would be presenting an appropriate grade level program. These fun kits are provided and funded by local businesses along with training by our school counselor.

Marketplace (Sat., November 20th, 10-3 at WHE)
Get ready to shop as local businesses purchase tables to showcase their products at our 2nd Annual Marketplace. Volunteers are needed to help with recruitment, advertising, raffles, ticket sales and the set up and take down on the day of the event.

Marquee
Help keep updated information throughout the year on our school marquee.

School Packs
Coordinate in February the sale of school supplies for the following year, distribute in the fall at the Meet the Teacher Day.

Spirit Wear
Help choose a school logo, order and distribute spirit wear once or twice a year.

Spring Fling (Tue., May 24th)
Join us in planning and executing our "student only" school wide Spring Fling where are children will enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor activities plus a special snack.

Staff Appreciation
Help us show our WHE staff just how much we appreciate them. Volunteers will be needed to help with conference dinners in October & March, a cookie exchange in December and a week’s worth of surprises during Staff Appreciation Week in May.

Stallion Stable (School Store)
Volunteer to staff the school store on the 3rd Thursday of the month during the lunch periods on a rotating basis on which dates that work best for them. Be willing to work a few evenings during the school when WHE has special events.

Trivia Night (TBD)
Many volunteers are needed to help coordinate this “Just for Parents” only event in the spring. Your help is needed to plan for this highly attended evening by helping with table registrations, questions, judging and securing donations for our wonderful silent auction. Help is also needed on the evening of this event.

Variety Show (Fri., February 11th at Marquette High School)
WHE students and teachers show their talents in our annual Variety Show. Parents are needed to help publicize, and staff this theatrical extravaganza.

Wednesday Wrap Up Folders
A folder of school approved information is sent home every Wednesday with the oldest or only student in each family. Many volunteers are needed to sort and assemble the information for these folders each Wednesday morning from 8:30-10:00 am for each grade level. Volunteers can work on a rotating basis, on dates that work best for them.

Yearbook
Help make memories for the WHE community. Pick photos representing the best of the school year. Take and turn in photos from various events or daily school routine.
